ROBOOP - A robotics object oriented package in C++

BUGS

If you're experiencing a problem with the ROBOOP package, please fill out and submit the following bug report form. You may also want to check out our list of known problems.

If what you want to tell us is really more of a suggestion or a request for enhancement, please use our suggestion form instead.

When you submit your bug report, it will be entered into our To Do list. Periodically we will post notices regarding bugs reported by users in the Known Problems section of this page, and tips or workarounds on the FAQ page.

Known Problems

The following is a list of some known problems with the package; we are working to correct them for the next release.

Version (2.95.2) of GNU G++ does not compile ROBOOP !
edit line 148 in newmat.h

   static int nTypes() { return 9; }    // number of different types
                                        // exclude Ct, US, BC

and add

   -fno-const-strings

to the CFLAGS in the makefile roboop.gnu (Unix, Linux) or roboop.gw32 (cygwin gcc). Recompile all the package and the problem should be resolved.

This problem has been fixed in release 1.07: Some versions (2.7.2.?) of GNU G++ generate the following error when compiling the demo file:
newmat/newmat.h: In method `ReturnMatrixX::~ReturnMatrixX()': newmat/newmat.h:279: Internal compiler error. newmat/newmat.h:279: Please submit a full bug report to `bug-g++@prep.ai.mit.edu'
This problem is related to optimization flag in the roboop.gnu makefile. Remove the -O option from the line:
CFLAGS = -O -c -D bool_LIB ...
Recompile all the package and the problem should be resolved.
